Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q: How are you providing psychological services during the pandemic?
  • A: During the ongoing pandemic and given the situation in Miami-Dade, I am currently only offering telehealth services, conducted via a secure videoconferencing platform, Zoom. See my blog for more information on the evidence base on telehealth as a modality for evidence-based psychotherapy.

  • Q: Which cities and states do you serve?
  • A: Outside of the pandemic, my office is located in Downtown Miami. However, I am happy to see patients throughout the state of Florida via telehealth services.

  • Q: What will our first meeting be like?
  • A: The first meeting is an intake, which means an initial evaluation. During this meeting, I would meet with you (and your child if relevant) and ask about your presenting problem, history of psychological services, and current symptoms. After this meeting, I will provide diagnostic impressions and treatment recommendations. During the pandemic, these intakes are conducted via the secure videoconference platform, Zoom.

  • Q: Do you accept insurance?
  • A: No, I do not accept insurance. However, I am happy to provide invoices with billing and diagnostic codes that you can submit to your insurance company to request reimbursement. I cannot guarantee that your insurance company will reimburse you for any charges.

  • Q: What are your fees?
  • A: I charge $300 for the 2-hour initial intake. My current rate for therapy sessions is $150.

  • Q: How does payment work?
  • A: All payment is expected at the time of service, either via cash, check, or credit card payment. During the pandemic, I do all credit card payments via Square.

  • Q: What is your availability like?
  • A: I offer morning, late afternoon, evening, and Saturday appointments.

  • Q: Do you do home visits?
  • A: During the pandemic, I am not offering any home visits.
